Louisville KY Free Weight Control Classes start July 8

Public Health and Wellness Department to Offer Weight Control Series



LOUISVILLE, KY (June 25, 2008) – Individuals interested in learning successful weight loss strategies, how to do smart grocery shopping, how to cook healthier foods, and how to overcome the common pitfalls of losing weight can take advantage of a free series of classes being offered by the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness.

The classes will be held on consecutive Tuesdays on July 8, July 15, July 22, and July 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Family Health Center Portland, 2215 Portland Ave., room 424



“This series of free classes can be very helpful to people who want to improve their health and lose weight,” said Margaret Heyn, a registered dietitian with the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. “These weight control strategies have been proven to be successful.”

The class is conducted by a registered dietitian, free of charge. Participants will receive body fat analysis as well as an individually calculated meal plan. Participants should register in advance by calling 574-6663.
